What is Global Petals?
Global Petals is an online marketplace where florists can find the highest quality flower farms that directly meet your needs. We facilitate the whole process (import, delivery to your doorstep, payments, product search, and more), so all you have to do is designate what you’re looking for, pay electronically, and build a lasting relationship that can lead to cost savings and higher quality and reliable products.

Why do you refer to florists as floral designers?
We call you floral designers because we recognize the value that you, as florists, bring to your customers. It’s your unique vision and creativity that makes this industry go around. We believe you should be recognized for the substantial value you add.

I’m not tech saavy, and it’s novel that I’m even on a computer right now… Do I have to order online?
No, we offer services on and off-line. Simply e-mail michael@globalpetals.com for personal inquiries, and we can handle orders the good old fashion way.

Do you only serve florists, or do you serve end buyers as well?
No, we do not sell to end buyers because we recognize and respect the value that florists add to the market. You must be a verified professional buyer to be able to have access to our farms online. Though, we do offer our services to interested wholesalers and event planners who sell their arrangements since they are professional buyers within the industry as well.

How do you verify that buyers are professional buyers?
We cross reference their Tax ID with state records to verify that they are indeed a business reselling to end buyers. If there is any doubt, we double check with local and industry organizations in the area to verify their status.

Are you just another wire service?
No, Global Petals does not dictate designs or charge florists in any way to do business with/on Global Petals. We also do not charge buyers for our service – what you see is what you get.

Will you be taking orders away from my business?
No, floral designers are our last frontier. We are dedicated to serving those who craft the final product. We’re looking to ENHANCE your business by providing more unique varieties, higher grade flowers, at competitive prices in an extremely fast, easy and efficient way on or offline.

I already have my suppliers, why should I buy from farms on Global Petals?
Do you ever wonder why vandelas look a shade one week and a different shade or hue the next, yet they come from the same supplier? This is because your previous supplier is sourcing from many different farms and countries that grow in very different environments with inconsistent quality controls.

Global Petals utilizes objective quality auditors in selecting our farms to ensure the farms are supplying top grade flowers. Since the same quality auditor assesses the same farms, their high standards are consistent across the board, which makes your products the highest quality, more consistently.

Furthermore, our farms can provide unique breeds and varieties that have not been mass marketed yet. This gives you a unique edge against your competition to create the most original designs in town. If you’re looking for something in particular that we don’t currently have, we can find it for you! Just write a note at our Contact Us page. We’ll respond to you very promptly and find your product as soon as possible.

Not only does working with a specific farm add to quality and originality, but Global Petals can save you money in a variety of ways. First, the relationship built with the farm often leads to special order agreements, helping you increase your own margins. Second, if you have a specific request for a large quantity of one variety, you do not have to pay more since farms rarely employ pricing differences between varieties (with the exception of specialty flowers on holidays such as Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day). Third, we utilize the community to leverage economies of scale in shipping and payment functions to lower unneeded costs for all.

What countries do Global Petals farms sell to?
At the moment, we are only open to the United States. It is our home country and we will be expanding here first. Once demand is strong in other parts of the world, we will set up those channels as well…in time.

How does Global Petals Make money?
Global Petals is revolutionizing the professional floral marketplace to be more easy and efficient than it ever was in the days of analog. Our 10% allocation on the farm side is to cover shipping costs, hedge fuel price increases, payment transfer, and farm evaluations. Our main goal is to provide florists with a fully transparent and honest system, which provides tools and resources to compete in today’s competitive market.
